Dr. Ungar was born and raised in Pennsylvania.  He graduated from Wilkes College with a BA in Chemistry and received his medical degree from Hahnemann Medical College in Philadelphia.  He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield Massachusetts. In 1988 he completed a fellowship in Geriatrics at the Harvard University Geriatrics Research Education Center in Boston, MA. Dr. Ungar is board certified in Internal Medicine and has practiced in Massachusetts for over 25 years as an Internist and Geriatric Specialist.

Dr. Ungar lives in Cape Elizabeth with his wife and, as a member of the Society of American Magicians, enjoys being a magician when he’s not caring for Southern Maine Geriatrics patients. In addition to writing a book “Bringing Magic to Life” he has attended Magic and Mystery School and taught classes on “Magic for Medical Professionals”.
